HVV is a dedicated group of volunteers—mostly former Air Force personnel—who have been collecting and restoring aircraft and components with a historical connection to Volkel Air Base since 2004.

The Starfighter Project ✈️ In a close partnership with the Dutch Starfighter Foundation (DSF), the team is working tirelessly to restore the iconic Dutch F-104G Starfighter “D-8114” to its original glory.

Support the Mission! Want to help us bring this legendary aircraft back to life? To fund this ambitious project, the DSF offers a variety of Starfighter-themed merchandise at aviation fairs and events, including:

GUIDO BOUCKAERT

At the age of 70, renowned aviation author Guido Bouckaert decided to bring an impressive chapter to a close. A private pilot with over 500 hours PIC and the author of hundreds of aviation articles published both nationally and internationally, Guido is concluding a 35-year career dedicated to aviation writing.As part of this milestone, Guido is also parting with his extensive aviation library — and he is bringing the very best of it to Tessenderlo-Ham for the Aero Collectors Fair 2026.On his stand, you’ll find around 20 books by his longtime friend Katsu Tokunaga, priced at €10 / €30 / €50 each. Several of these titles are long out of print, hard to find on the second-hand market, or so recent that they are still relatively unknown — including gems such as Roar! NATO Tigers and Around the World in a Breitling DC-3, to which Guido himself contributed.

Restoration in Action

BAPA is committed to the exhaustive preservation of aviation history. The organization recognizes that every item, from the smallest rivet to a complete WWII medium bomber, helps tell the unbelievable story of humankind's oldest dream: flying.

Many of the aircraft they recover have suffered years of neglect and are often damaged or incomplete.

Thanks to extensive work, research, and the fabrication or repair of parts, some aircraft have been returned to their original condition. Several historic machines have already been fully restored or are currently undergoing restoration—among them, a B-25 "Mitchell," the iconic American WWII bomber that played a key role in the liberation of Europe.

Flanders Aviation Society will be present at our event. FAS is a unique association by and for aviation enthusiasts, with the goal of promoting aviation and making it accessible to everyone. The association has been bringing aviation enthusiasts together for over 30 years. Serge 'Seppe' Verbeeck caught the Belgian Air Force bug 50 years ago—specifically through the 15th Wing. His passion extends beyond the aircraft themselves to the people who operated and maintained them. The Mechelen native is the author of "De C-47B Dakota and C-119 Flying Boxcar bij de Belgische Luchtmacht", a books entirely dedicated to the aircraft operated by the 15th Air Transport Wing.
Serge will be present at the upcoming Aero Collectors Fair, where he’ll present his new book and other goodies and represent the Dakota Museum in Melsbroek—a place that shares his deep dedication to preserving Belgium’s military aviation heritage.
